Beara Camera Club

John Baylis Post

I’ve been taking photographs, more or less seriously, since I started taking pictures of my children more than thirty years ago. Since then I have taken an interest in most styles of photography, with perhaps an emphasis on portraiture, landscape, and townscape. For years I shot exclusively in black and white, doing my own processing and printing, but on moving to Ireland in 2005 I no longer had access to a darkroom, and so I bought a digital camera experimentally. Since then, almost all of my work has been digital. I enjoy using digital manipulation to produce images far from the original photographs (for examples, see my website by clicking here), but my camera club work is usually more conventional in style.
